The aquaculture industry is currently the fastest growing food producing sector in the world, which is of benefit for the growing population. How come the aquaculture industry is growing significantly?

Overall the consumption of fish and seafood is rising. Whether it concerns wild caught species or farmed species. But why is the consumption of specifically farmed fish and seafood, so to say “from aquaculture”, growing so fast?

Generally people are more and more conscious about their health and interested to learn what food benefit their well-being. There is simply a growing awareness of the health benefits of seafood and fish. Both resulting in a decline of wild fish stocks. As the consumption of fish and seafood remains to rise, this positively impacts the aquaculture industry.
